PIP case rolls on through the courts

On the 27 February 2020, the German Federal Court of Justice ruled on the legal requirements of liability for the Notified Body linked to the case of patients suffering from damages related to the silicone breast implants manufactured by the French company Poly Implant Prothèse (PIP).

The Court concluded that there was no contractual liability, but that there was an extra-contractual liability of the Notified Body. The press release from the German Federal Court is available from here (German language).
